Pitot Tube (pronounced pee toe for you newbees)

In order to fly IFR (instrument flight rule), you must have a heated pitot tube for de-icing purposes. If you go down that road you will have to either fabricate a mount to the bottom of the wing skin, or do what I did and order the Gretz mount, pre-made. I got mine from Aircraft spruce, but there are other after market ones. You will still have to commit dremel cut off wheel to the wing skin , a very painful process, but way easier than trying to fab one out due to the strange aerodynamic curves of the heated pitot tube.

Here is the inside of the wing and the pitot mount. This is a very high quality unit from Gretz. Chrome plated, very nice.

Here is the outside view.
