Oh My.. The kit arrives!!

The Empennage (tail section) is the the beginning of the long road of building. It consists of the vertical stabilizer, horizontal stabilizer, rudder, and elevator. When the tail first arrived, I was shocked to see how little the boxes were. I mean really!!! Is it possible an entire tail is built from those boxes? The wood you see of the left is for the jig that must be built to keep it all straight.  That does not come in the kit, although the plans for building the jig are included.

I was so excited when the boxes arrived I couldn't stand it. But once I got it home and began inventory of the parts, reality set in. This was going to be a difficult process, this plane building thing. But after a couple of days, concern turned to challenge and the fun began.
